The second part of the weapon's notation indicates how much damage the weapon will cause. A dagger, for example, a (d4,3) weapon, causes 3 Health Points of damage on a successful hit that bypasses an opponent's armour and shield.
Combat continues until one combatants' Health Points is reduced to zero, indicating they have been driven unconscious by their wounds. When reduced to -3 Health Points, a character dies.
Unconscious characters may roll a six-sided die (d6) at the end of every 10 combat rounds (1 minute). On a roll of a 1, the character wakes up with 1 Health Point.
- A character with a Strength of 16 or more will add 1 to all damage he causes with melee weapons.
- Without magical intervention, natural healing begins after 4 days, after which time the character recovers a number of Health Points equal to his Rank each day.
